Privacy Policy
Last updated
This Privacy Policy explains how Curtis Tech Solutions LLC (“CTS,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit curtistechsolutions.com (the “site”) or contact us about a project. It does not cover information we handle for clients during an engagement; that work is governed by the agreement we sign with each client. Your use of the site is also subject to our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you send the project inquiry form, we receive your name, email address, company (if you provide it), and project summary. If you email or call us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to share.
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used, such as the address and title of each page you view, how far you scroll and which sections of the homepage you see, which links and buttons you click, and whether you start the inquiry form and whether sending it succeeds. The contents of the form are never sent to Google Analytics. Google also records information such as your browser, device type, referring site, and approximate location, which it derives from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.
- Server data. Like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser details with each request. It uses the network address of each request to deliver the site and to limit repeated form submissions, keeps those addresses only in memory until the server restarts, and does not write them to our application logs. Our hosting provider may keep its own request logs.
How we use information
- To respond to your inquiry, discuss whether we are a good fit, and communicate with you about a potential engagement.
- To operate and secure the site, including preventing spam and abuse of the inquiry form.
- To understand how visitors use the site and improve it.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies and browser storage
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies on our domain (_ga, and _ga_ followed by our property ID) to recognize your browser and keep track of your visits. By default they expire two years after your most recent visit, and your browser may delete them sooner. The site sets no other cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same without them.
The site also saves your scroll position in your browser’s session storage so the Back button returns you to where you were. It never leaves your browser, and your browser clears it when you close the tab. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and respond to you, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Fly.io hosts the site and our server. The server writes each inquiry, including your name, email address, company, and project summary, to its logs so that none are lost if a notification fails, and Fly.io stores those logs.
- Discord receives each inquiry and posts it in a channel our team uses, so we are notified promptly.
- Google provides Google Analytics and the site’s fonts. Your browser downloads fonts directly from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Email and phone providers carry the messages and calls you exchange with us.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of CTS, our clients, or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business.
How long we keep information
We keep inquiries and related correspondence for as long as we need them to respond, to maintain records of our business relationships, and to meet legal obligations. Copies of each inquiry also stay in our hosting logs at Fly.io, which Fly.io currently keeps for about seven days, and in our Discord channel until we delete them. Google Analytics keeps data linked to your browser for the retention period set in our Analytics account, after which Google deletes it automatically; Google may keep aggregated statistics that do not identify you for longer.
Security
Connections to the site are redirected to encrypted HTTPS, and access to inquiries is limited to the people who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send passwords, financial details, or other sensitive information through the inquiry form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it (copies in our hosting logs are removed when those logs expire), and you can opt out of analytics as described above. Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and some US states, you may also have the right to receive a copy of your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to appeal our decision on a request, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email contact@curtistechsolutions.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
International visitors
CTS is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Data protection laws there may differ from those where you live. By using the site or contacting us, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
Children’s privacy
The site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
The site links to other websites, such as LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above.
